pages-publish: composite action that pushes a built directory to the pages branch
Fails on a missing or empty dir and on a site over max-mb before any push. The
token reaches git through GIT_CONFIG_* env only. test/run.sh checks it against a
throwaway repo.

actions

Shared pipeline templates for the Realliance forge. Each template is a composite action in its own directory.

pages-publish

Pushes a built directory to your repo's pages branch. Realliance Pages serves it at https://<owner>.realliance.page/<repo>/. A repo named pages serves the root site, https://<owner>.realliance.page/.

- uses: actions/checkout@v4
- run: ./build.sh # writes the site to ./public
- uses: https://git.realliance.net/realliance/actions/pages-publish@v1
  with:
    dir: public

The forge's default action host is GitHub, so use the full URL.

Input Default Meaning
dir required The built site
token github.token Token that can push to the repo
branch pages Branch that Pages serves
max-mb 128 Fail before pushing if the site is larger. Pages refuses more than 128 MB
message publish <sha> Commit message

Output: url, the site address.

The repo must be public, in a public owner. See the Pages runbook for naming rules. For anything sensitive, pin by commit sha (pages-publish@<sha>) instead of @v1.

Contributing

Members open and merge pull requests against main. Sign your commits. Owners tag releases (v1.x.y, plus a moving v1). To check a change, run test/run.sh with FORGEJO_ADMIN_TOKEN set. It publishes a throwaway site and removes it.
